Nouriel Roubini Warns AI Could Force Governments to Adopt UBI Over Next 20-25 Years

According to Nouriel Roubini during a Bloomberg TV interview, rapid artificial intelligence development could force governments to adopt universal basic income or embrace more socialist economic models as automation reshapes the global workforce over the next 20 to 25 years.

Roubini estimated annual GDP growth could rise from around 2% baseline to 4% by decade's end, potentially reaching 6% by 2040 and 10% by 2050. He outlined two approaches to distribute AI-generated wealth: redistributing wealth through universal basic income, or governments taking ownership stakes in major technology companies.
