This expansion was carried out after completing the first subscription in March, increasing Legora’s total funds raised from the previous $550 million to $600 million. A diversified investor lineup shows the appeal of AI legal services

Investors participating in this expansion round include the software giant Atlassian, the private asset management firm Adams Street Partners, and the well-known tech investment firm Insight Partners. Atlassian’s participation is especially notable because the company itself provides project management and collaboration software, and investing in Legora may indicate an intention to integrate its AI capabilities into its existing product ecosystem. As an asset management company focused on alternative investments, Adams Street Partners’ involvement suggests that institutional investors have long-term optimism about the AI legal tech market.

Legora’s product positioning and the competitive landscape

Legora is focused on developing AI tools specifically designed for the legal profession, aiming to automate processes such as legal document review, contract analysis, and legal research. Over the past year, Legora’s team expanded from 40 members to 400, spanning Stockholm, London, New York, Denver, Sydney, and Bengaluru. Each year, the legal industry generates enormous demand for document processing worldwide. Traditionally, it relies on large numbers of lawyers and legal assistants to conduct manual reviews. Legora’s AI solutions aim to reduce the cost of legal services and improve efficiency. The company said its annual recurring revenue recently surpassed $100 million and currently serves tens of thousands of legal professionals in large corporate legal departments, including those at Barclays, as well as leading law firms such as White & Case, HSFK, and Linklaters.

Jude Law serves as the global brand ambassador

British actor Jude Law is currently the global brand ambassador for legal AI startup Legora. The relationship between the two largely stems from a successful marketing campaign, with the most important creative core built around his surname “Law” (law), which perfectly aligns with the company’s legal services. The advertising tagline is:

Law just got more attractive.(Law just got more attractive.)
