According to the U.S. Coast Guard, an offshore oil platform near Santa Barbara County, California caught fire today (May 11), with 26 workers evacuated to safety. Two people sustained injuries in the incident. The Coast Guard, Santa Barbara Harbor Patrol, and local fire departments coordinated emergency response efforts. The platform remains engulfed in smoke, with firefighting vessels actively spraying water on the structure. Fire suppression operations are ongoing.
