Only 13 Vessels Transit Strait of Hormuz Today, Traffic at One-Tenth of Pre-War Levels

According to Kpler data reported by CCTV News, only 13 commercial vessels transited the Strait of Hormuz today (July 16), with 8 departing the Persian Gulf and 5 entering it. This traffic volume represents approximately one-tenth of pre-war average daily throughput. Among the vessels entering the Persian Gulf, only one bulk carrier used the southern route near Oman's coast recommended by U.S. forces; most vessels continued along the shipping lane near Iran's coastline. Actual transit numbers may be higher, as some vessels have disabled their transponders.
