Ontario Requests Federal Military Deployment for Wildfire Evacuation

Ontario has requested the Canadian federal government prepare to deploy military resources to support wildfire evacuations across the province on July 16. Fifteen communities in northern Ontario have initiated or are considering evacuation orders, with approximately 180 active wildfires reported in the northeast and northwest regions.
