OpenAI Posts Mandarin-Speaking Developer Roles Despite China Service Ban

According to South China Morning Post, OpenAI has recently posted developer roles in Singapore and San Francisco requiring Mandarin skills to serve Mandarin-speaking clients and communities, while maintaining its exclusion of China from service coverage. The positions include Singapore-based developer experience engineers and San Francisco-based growth partner managers.

China has 9.4 million software developers, representing approximately one-third of the global total, according to Li Xiaodong, vice-chair of the China Internet Association.
