According to Jin10, OpenAI's head of safety systems Johannes Heidecke announced his departure this week as the company undergoes a reorganization merging its safety and research divisions. Chief Research Officer Mark Chen outlined the restructuring in an internal memo, stating that safety operations will be led by Mia Glaese, who assumes a newly created role as Vice President of Research and Safety. Saachi Jain, former safety team lead, will serve as interim head of safety systems reporting to Glaese.
