PC Brands Accelerate Adoption of Chinese Memory and Storage Amid Price Surge

According to China Times Industrial News, major PC manufacturers including Lenovo, Apple, MSI, Gigabyte, ASUS, and Acer are accelerating certification and integration of Chinese-made memory and storage components to address rising DRAM and SSD costs. Lenovo has already expanded use of Chinese components this year, with high-end notebook models featuring YMTC SSDs appearing on North American e-commerce platforms. Apple is reportedly seeking U.S. government approval to procure CXMT memory to mitigate price pressures. Taiwan-based board manufacturers are also moving forward, with MSI recently validating CXMT DDR5 chips on AMD platforms, while Gigabyte has adopted CXMT components in select motherboards.
