According to Qatar's Energy Minister Saad Al-Kaabi, a natural gas factory explosion in Ras Laffan industrial city on June 21 killed 13 people and injured 66. The Energy Minister stated the incident was caused by a production accident and was not the result of deliberate sabotage or hostile action. Qatar's Interior Ministry confirmed the blast was triggered by technical failure, according to a statement on June 22.
