Russia's Energy Ministry Drafts Ban on Crypto Mining in Moscow Region Starting July 1

According to Tass, Russia's Energy Ministry has drafted a government resolution to ban cryptocurrency mining in Moscow city, Moscow region, and parts of Kursk region starting July 1, 2026, extending through December 31, 2032. Currently, Moscow city and Moscow region have 65 data centers connected with total capacity of 734 megawatts.
