Sakura Internet CEO Says Japan Data Center Operator May Hike Capex Sevenfold to 20-30 Billion Yen

According to Bloomberg, on May 25, Sakura Internet Inc. CEO Kunihiro Tanaka said the Japanese data center operator may need to increase capital expenditure nearly sevenfold to meet growing AI demand. The company is considering investing 20 billion to 30 billion yen (approximately $125 million to $190 million) this fiscal year, significantly higher than the 4.4 billion yen capex plan announced last month.
