Samsung and SK Hynix Announce 32 Trillion Won Chip Investment, Plan 7 New Fabs by 2030

According to Odaily, Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix announced late last month a total of 32 trillion won (approximately $24.6 billion USD) in semiconductor equipment investment by 2030. Samsung plans to build four new fabrication plants—two in Pyeongtaek (P5, P6) and two additional fabs in the Yongin and Gwangju clusters. SK Hynix will construct two fabs in Yongin and one in Gwangju, bringing the combined total of new fabs for both companies to seven by 2030.
