Top Investors Switch to SK Hynix, Sell Samsung on July 21 as Chip Exports Hit Record

According to Mirae Asset Securities, on July 21, South Korea's top-performing investors (those with top 1% returns over the past month) net bought SK Hynix while net selling Samsung Electronics. SK Hynix rose 3.00% to 1.817 million Korean won, while Samsung climbed 5.12% to 256,500 won but faced profit-taking from high-net-worth traders.

The trading pattern reflects divergent bets in South Korea's semiconductor sector. SK Hynix strength followed record semiconductor exports of $22.1 billion recorded from July 1-20, up 180.6% year-over-year, while Samsung's gain was driven by announcement of a new robotics business unit but met selling pressure as investors locked in gains.
