Samsung and SK Hynix Leverage Products See First Weekly Net Outflows of 49.6 Billion Won Since May Listing

According to Korea Exchange, on July 24, 14 single-stock leverage products tracking Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix saw net outflows of 49.6 billion won in the week of July 20-24, marking the first weekly outflow since their May 27 launch. The products had accumulated net inflows of approximately 12.14 trillion won from June 1 to July 16 despite underlying stocks falling 56-60% for SK Hynix leverage products and 48-50% for Samsung. South Korea's Financial Services Commission accelerated implementation of stricter deposit requirements from August to July 31, raising the minimum cash deposit from 10 million won to 30 million won for new and additional purchases of single-stock leverage products.
