Senate Approves Vashed as Fed Chair; Commonwealth Bank Expects Rate Hikes from December

According to Commonwealth Bank foreign exchange strategist Carol Kong, the U.S. Senate on May 15 approved Vashed as the new Federal Reserve chair. Kong stated the Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) will "likely be forced" to begin raising interest rates from December this year, with the bank currently forecasting three rate hikes during the cycle.
