Senate Banking Committee Passes Digital Asset Market Clarity Act 15-9, Floor Vote Targeted for June

The U.S. Senate Banking Committee voted 15-9 on Thursday evening to advance the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act to the full Senate for a floor vote. Two Democrats, Senators Ruben Gallego and Angela Alsobrooks, crossed the aisle to support the bill in a bipartisan result after last-minute negotiations over amendments. Banking Committee Chairman Tim Scott stated the vote demonstrated Washington’s ability to work together on crypto regulation. The combined bill, merging the Banking Committee’s framework with the Agriculture Committee’s CFTC jurisdiction provisions, is targeted for a full Senate floor vote in June or July 2026, where 60 votes are needed to advance.
