According to Blockchain Association CEO Summer Mersinger speaking at the Injective Summit on Thursday, the U.S. Senate is expected to vote on the Digital Asset Market Clarity (CLARITY) Act as soon as next week, with ethics provisions emerging as the primary sticking point between Republican and Democratic lawmakers.

Mersinger noted that a White House meeting with Republican senators on Thursday aimed to resolve the ethics disagreement, which has become central to bipartisan support efforts. Prediction market Kalshi placed the likelihood of a Senate floor vote before the August recess at 75.1%, up from 47% on July 10, though three Senate Democrats have stated they will not support the bill without clear ethics protections.
