SK Telecom Establishes AI Data Center Unit, Targets 750B Won Investment Through 2030

According to Future Asset Securities, on July 26, SK Telecom's target stock price was raised to 120,000 won, up 22.4% from the previous close of 100,000 won on July 24. The brokerage maintained a "buy" recommendation.

The price increase follows SK Telecom's announcement on July 23 of a new data center subsidiary called SK Hyper, which will handle infrastructure, site acquisition, power infrastructure development, and customer operations. The company plans to invest a total of 750 billion won through 2030, with approximately 330 billion won allocated for execution in July and the remainder phased over time. SK Hyper is a 100% subsidiary of SK Telecom. Operations are expected to begin in Ulsan in the second half of 2027, with expansion planned to reach up to 15 gigawatts by 2035.
