SKC Reports Q2 Operating Loss of 14.4 Billion Won, Down 79% YoY, Revenue Beats Forecast

According to Yonhapinfomax, SKC reported on July 27 that its second-quarter revenue reached 645.4 billion Korean won, up 38.3% year-over-year, with operating loss narrowed to 14.4 billion won, down 79% from the prior year. The results exceeded analyst expectations, which had forecast revenue of 561.2 billion won and an operating loss of 18.6 billion won. By segment, the semiconductor materials division posted an operating profit of 21.3 billion won on revenue of 72.9 billion won, while the chemicals division generated 30.5 billion won in operating profit on revenue of 317.8 billion won. The secondary battery materials division reported revenue of 254 billion won with an operating loss of 30.8 billion won.
