According to Yonhapnews, on July 13, the South Korean government announced a comprehensive fiscal strategy focusing on youth employment and mega-projects during a national financial strategy conference presided over by President Lee Jae-myung.
The government plans to create more than 300,000 jobs for young people and prioritize the supply of new-type public rental housing. The plan also includes implementing the largest-scale expenditure restructuring in history and establishing a Future Response Fund to allocate additional tax revenue toward four priority areas: youth, growth drivers, local regions, and talent development. The government will prioritize fiscal investment in three mega-projects: semiconductors, artificial intelligence, and data centers.
