South Korea Delays Lotte Card Sanctions Decision, Final Ruling Expected July 29

South Korea's Financial Services Commission has postponed its final sanctions decision against Lotte Card, which suffered a data breach affecting 2.97 million customers. Originally scheduled for July 9, the review will reconvene on July 23, with a final ruling expected on July 29.

The regulators are considering a 4.5-month business suspension—the first time external hacking-related data breaches have faced such severe penalties. As of now, no secondary fraud incidents have been confirmed among the 2.97 million affected users.
