South Korea's Stock Manipulation Task Force Identifies 10+ Cases in First Year, Strengthens AI Surveillance

According to the Financial Services Commission, the joint task force tackling stock price manipulation on July 8 announced it had identified more than 10 significant unfair trading cases over the past year, including market manipulation by ultra-high-net-worth individuals and insider trading by securities firm executives. The authorities plan to enhance investigation and enforcement capabilities while building an AI-based market surveillance system to accelerate detection and strengthen sanctions against unfair trading practices.
