SpaceX Seeks $1.78 Trillion Valuation, Targets World's Seventh-Largest Market Cap

According to the Financial Times, SpaceX is pursuing an initial public offering with a target valuation of approximately $1.78 trillion, which would rank it as the world's seventh-largest company by market capitalization. The company has integrated xAI operations into its core strategy; in Q1 2026, AI-related capital expenditures accounted for over 75% of total spending. However, significant execution risks remain: SpaceX launched approximately 2,200 tons of payload into orbit last year, yet its orbital data center vision requires achieving roughly 1 million tons of annual launch capacity, a gap of 450-fold.
