Spanish Police Seize €400K in Cryptocurrency from Illegal Comic Piracy Platform

Gate News message, April 25 — Spanish police in Almería dismantled what authorities described as the country's largest Spanish-language pirated comics platform, seizing two cryptocurrency cold wallets containing approximately €400,000 (roughly $467,000) in assets. Three suspects were arrested during the operation.

The platform had been distributing pirated content since 2014, generating revenue primarily through advertisements. Over the past decade, the site accumulated more than €4 million in total earnings. Police discovered the cold wallets hidden inside a wall-mounted thermometer.

Authorities have not disclosed whether they have obtained access to the wallets' private keys or secured control of the seized funds.
