Sulfur Prices Hit 8,033.33 Yuan/Ton on June 8, Up 7.11% Month-to-Date and 119.43% YTD

According to market data provider ShengyeShe, sulfur prices reached 8,033.33 yuan/ton on June 8, climbing 7.11% from the start of the month and 119.43% since the beginning of 2026. Over the past two and a half years since early 2024, when sulfur was priced at 1,066 yuan/ton, prices have surged over 600%, marking the strongest market performance since 2008. The price surge is already creating ripple effects across downstream industries; for instance, tightening sulfur supply has forced sulfuric acid method titanium dioxide producers to cut production rates and raise product prices due to raw material shortages, according to Securities Daily.
