Sweat Project Hacked; 13.71B SWEAT Tokens Stolen in 30 Seconds, Worth ~$3.46M

According to security researchers, the Sweat project on NEAR Protocol suffered a security breach today (April 29) at 16:36 UTC+3, with approximately 13.71 billion SWEAT tokens stolen, representing roughly 65% of the circulating supply and valued at approximately $3.46 million. The attack was completed in about 30 seconds, emptying multiple Sweat Foundation wallets.

The attacker used a specialized “drainer” smart contract written in Rust to execute the theft. Stolen assets were subsequently routed through various channels, including DeFi platform Ref Finance and cross-chain transfers via Wormhole/Portal Bridge infrastructure. The attacker currently controls approximately 17.71 billion SWEAT in total, with the majority held at the main address.
