Tether's XAUt Gold Token Receives Shariah Certification, Assets Hit $2.5 Billion

According to Cointelegraph, Tether's gold-backed token XAUt has received Shariah certification from Amanah Advisors, confirming it complies with Islamic finance principles including full physical gold backing, no interest or leverage, and transparent reserves. Each XAUt token represents one ounce of physical gold stored in Swiss vaults. The certification opens a clearer path for Tether to promote XAUt among Islamic financial institutions and investors. XAUt's on-chain asset value has grown from approximately $700 million in July 2025 to about $2.5 billion, making it one of the largest tokenized gold products in the crypto market.
