Trader Loracle Liquidated $9.83M in WTI Short Positions Overnight, Returns to Shorting Minutes Later

According to Hyperinsight, trader Loracle faced liquidation of 106,500 WTI short contracts overnight yesterday, with combined losses of $681,200 at an average execution price of $92.30 per barrel, marking the largest single liquidation across all markets in 24 hours. The trader resumed shorting just 12 minutes after the liquidation.

As of press time, Loracle holds 27,700 WTI short contracts with a 3x leverage at a build price of $92.20 per barrel, valued at approximately $2.547 million, with unrealized gains of about $14,400. The position represents roughly a quarter of the pre-liquidation size. The trader also has 19 pending short orders in the $93.40–$95.20 range, planning to add an additional 15,000 contracts if filled, which would increase total WTI short exposure to approximately 42,874 contracts.
