Trump Orders Federal Reserve to Review Fintech Access to Payment Systems Within 120 Days

According to Whitehouse.gov, US President Donald Trump signed an executive order on Tuesday directing the Federal Reserve to review any barriers preventing fintech and crypto firms' access to Federal Reserve payment systems and submit a report within 120 days.

The order also tasked the heads of federal financial regulators with reviewing existing regulations, supervisory practices, and application processes within 90 days to identify rules that could be updated to facilitate fintech partnerships with federally regulated institutions and streamline charter applications.
