Trump to Sign AI Cybersecurity Executive Order as Early as Thursday

According to sources on May 21, U.S. President Trump plans to sign an executive order focused on strengthening AI cybersecurity as early as Thursday, with tech industry leaders invited to the signing ceremony at the White House.

The order will modify existing cybersecurity information sharing programs to include AI companies, but will not require federal approval for advanced models. Instead, it will call for voluntary government testing of frontier AI systems to identify and patch vulnerabilities in federal, state, local networks, and critical U.S. infrastructure without broad new regulations.
