Typhoon Bawei Intensifies to Super Typhoon, Set to Landfall in Zhejiang-Fujian on July 12

According to China Meteorological Administration, Typhoon Bawei strengthened to super typhoon status on July 11 at midnight, with maximum sustained winds of 14 levels. As of 6 a.m. on July 11, the storm center was located about 540 kilometers southeast of the Zhejiang-Fujian border, moving northwest at 30-35 kilometers per hour.

The typhoon is expected to make landfall along the coast between Taizhou, Zhejiang and Fuding, Fujian early on July 12 at super typhoon or typhoon strength (winds of 13-14 levels). After landfall, it will turn northwest and gradually weaken.
