Uber Cuts 10% of Customer Service Jobs on July 22, Shifts Remote Staff to Offices

UBER-1.71%

According to Bloomberg, Uber cut 10% of its customer service operations jobs on July 22. The company also asked some remote staff to relocate to hub offices to simplify operations, support in-person collaboration, and continue embracing AI.

The move aligns with Uber's broader workplace shift. Starting in June, the company required corporate staff to work from the office three days a week, including some previously approved remote workers. This follows a June reorganization that reduced Uber's people division by 23%.
