UK FCA Proposes Allowing Authorized Funds to Hold Up to 10% Crypto ETN

According to the UK Financial Conduct Authority, the FCA proposed on June 8 allowing authorized investment funds, including UCITS plans and most non-UCITS retail schemes, to allocate up to 10% of assets to crypto exchange-traded notes (ETN). The proposal is part of FCA Consultation Paper 52, with a consultation period ending July 13. The 10% cap is designed to bridge the regulatory gap between individual retail investors and authorized funds following the FCA's August 2025 lifting of its four-year crypto ETN retail ban.
