UK Inflation Falls to 2.8% in April, Below 3% Forecast, But Pound Unmoved

According to Jin10, UK inflation fell to 2.8% in April from 3.3% in March, beating market expectations of 3.0%, driven by government measures lowering household energy bills.

Abel Group economist Luke Bartholomew said the decline will ease near-term rate hike pressure on the Bank of England. However, he cautioned that geopolitical impacts on inflation, particularly from Iran tensions, remain unresolved.
