U.S. 10-Year Treasury Yield Rises to 4.586% on July 16 Amid Iran-Houthi Oil Threat

CL-0.81%

According to Yonhap Infomax, on July 16 at 9:13 p.m. ET, the U.S. 10-year Treasury yield rose 4 basis points to 4.586%, while the 2-year yield climbed 4 basis points to 4.170%. The 30-year yield increased 3.3 basis points to 5.116%.

The rally in yields was driven by heightened inflation concerns after Iran instructed Yemen's Houthi militants to blockade the Red Sea if the U.S. strikes Iranian power facilities. WTI crude oil futures for August delivery climbed 0.7%, amplifying bond market selloff pressures as investors fear energy price shocks could reignite inflation.
