CIA Assesses Iran Can Sustain 3-4 Months Under U.S. Naval Blockade, Maintains 75% of Missile Launchers

According to Washington Post, the CIA assessed on May 7 that Iran can sustain at least three to four months under a U.S. naval blockade before facing severe economic hardship. The analysis also found that despite weeks of intense U.S.-Israeli bombardment, Iran retains substantial ballistic missile capabilities, including approximately 75% of its mobile launcher inventory and about 70% of its missile reserves. A U.S. official stated that evidence indicates Iran's regime has been able to restore and reactivate nearly all underground storage facilities, repair some damaged missiles, and assemble new missiles that were near completion when the conflict began.

Iranian officials are reportedly storing some oil on tankers that would otherwise be idled by the blockade while reducing oil field production to maintain well operations. U.S. officials suggested that if Iran succeeds in smuggling oil via land routes, the CIA may have underestimated Iran's economic resilience.
