U.S. Justice Department Reaches $26M Settlement with Keystone Pipeline Owner for 2022 Kansas Spill

According to the U.S. Justice Department on Friday, South Bow, the Canadian company that owns and operates the Keystone pipeline, agreed to pay over $26 million in civil penalties for Clean Water Act violations stemming from a 2022 pipeline rupture in Kansas. The company also committed to completing remediation work estimated to cost $40 million to prevent similar leaks in the future.
