U.S. Strategic Reconnaissance Aircraft RC-135U Stays in South Korea for 30 Hours, Moves to Japan

According to Voice of America, the U.S. Air Force's RC-135U 'Combat Sent' strategic reconnaissance aircraft, one of only two in the world, stayed in South Korea for about 30 hours before departing for Japan's Okinawa on June 27. The aircraft entered South Korean airspace on June 26 at 7:53 a.m. and reappeared near Osan on June 27 at 2:48 p.m., landing at Kadena Air Base in Okinawa at 5 p.m. the same day, according to flight tracking website Flightradar24. VOA noted this extended stay is unusual, as the reconnaissance aircraft typically completes sorties within hours.
