USS George Washington Departs Japan's Yokosuka Base on May 10 After Maintenance Completion

According to Japanese media, the USS George Washington nuclear-powered aircraft carrier departed the U.S. military base in Yokosuka, Kanagawa Prefecture, on May 10 after completing maintenance. The carrier had returned to Yokosuka in December 2025 following the end of its previous deployment and entered a maintenance and overhaul phase. The departure is considered a sea trial following the completion of maintenance work.
