According to Reuters, Venezuela’s central bank head Luis Perez said on May 14 that restructuring the country’s sovereign debt and state oil company PDVSA debt will help Venezuela exit financial isolation from the global system. A Venezuelan delegation will travel to Washington by the end of May to meet with the International Monetary Fund (IMF). Perez noted that ties with the IMF ‘should never have been broken.’
