Wealthy South Korean Investors Aggressively Buy Samsung and SK Hynix Leveraged ETFs, Spending 434.8 Billion Won

According to Seoul Economic Daily analysis of 25,000 high-net-worth investors, wealthy individuals in South Korea aggressively purchased Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix single-stock leveraged ETFs from May 27 to July 10. The investors bought a combined 434.8 billion won worth of these products, with SK Hynix leveraged ETFs receiving 178.1 billion won and 140.1 billion won respectively, while Samsung Electronics leveraged ETF attracted 116.6 billion won.

Investment strategies varied by age group. Investors in their 40s mirrored wealthy investors' preferences for single-stock leveraged ETFs on both companies. However, investors aged 60 and above chose direct stakes in Samsung and SK Hynix shares instead, favoring larger blue-chip stocks over leveraged products to mitigate volatility concerns.
