White House Alleges Moonshot AI Accessed Restricted Nvidia GB300 Chips via Thailand on July 23

NVDA-1.58%
According to a White House official on July 23, Moonshot AI accessed Nvidia's restricted GB300 chips through remote servers in Thailand, circumventing U.S. export controls. The official also alleged that the China-based AI startup used Anthropic's Fable to help develop Kimi K3, which features 2.8 trillion parameters. GB300 is part of Nvidia's Blackwell line and is prohibited from direct export to Chinese companies, though current regulations do not restrict remote access to such chips in third countries.
