According to Beating, Yuán Lì, co-founder of Thinking Machines Lab (founded by former OpenAI CTO Mira Murati), announced her departure on July 28, citing persistent health issues and work pressure over the past seven months that exceeded her physical capacity. She took a month-long medical leave while the company was finalizing its first open-weight model, Inkling, which launched approximately two weeks ago. This marks the departure of the fourth co-founder since the lab's establishment; previous departures include Andrew Tulloch (who joined Meta), Barret Zoph, and Luke Metz (both returned to OpenAI).
