ZEC-6.49%

Zcash activated its Ironwood network upgrade on July 28, according to Zodl (formerly Zashi). The upgrade is designed to enhance network performance, strengthen developer infrastructure, and improve protocol compatibility while maintaining the blockchain's focus on privacy and security.

The upgrade requires software updates from node operators and wallet users to maintain network consensus. Zodl 3.8.0 became available across all supported platforms ahead of activation to prevent service interruptions. Since its 2016 launch, Zcash has positioned itself as a privacy-focused blockchain utilizing zero-knowledge cryptography to enable shielded transactions that protect sender and recipient identities while preserving blockchain verifiability.
