Ethereum co-founder Vitalik recently shared his thoughts on the open-source plan of the X platform. He believes that Elon Musk's push for open source code is a good direction, but the key lies in the implementation details.
In his view, a 4-week delayed release cycle sounds too aggressive, and he recommends extending it to 1 year for more stability—this can effectively prevent data manipulation. However, the real highlight should focus on verifiability: allowing users to run the code themselves to directly verify the absence of hidden censorship or weight suppression behaviors.
Vitalik emphasized that delaying the publication of tweet data and anonymous like counts, combined with mechanisms that enable users to replicate and verify, can truly address market concerns about algorithm transparency. This is not only about trust but also about the healthy operation of the platform's ecosystem.
