Scroll Addresses Market Confusion Over DAO Future Direction, Reaffirms Commitment to Enhanced Governance
Scroll has taken to X to dispel growing misconceptions surrounding its decentralized autonomous organization, clarifying that recent governance announcements do not signal an end to the DAO's operations. This misunderstanding emerged following disclosures about structural changes to the organization's decision-making framework.
According to reports from December 24, the layer-2 scaling solution clarified that the governance restructuring initiative represents an evolution rather than a dissolution of the protocol's autonomous governance model. The protocol emphasized that despite the framework adjustments, the DAO will remain operational and continue its core functions.
Rather than discontinuing DAO participation, Scroll's governance redesign draws from accumulated operational experience and past decision-making patterns. The restructuring effort aims to strengthen the governance architecture by implementing improvements informed by lessons learned throughout the DAO's history.
This clarification underscores the distinction between organizational refinement and organizational termination—a distinction that appears to have been overlooked by portions of the community following the initial announcement. As governance frameworks become increasingly complex across blockchain protocols, communication clarity around structural changes has emerged as a critical factor in maintaining community confidence and preventing market misunderstanding regarding a project's long-term direction.
