I just came across a case that I’d rather not mention. A 46-year-old woman in Russia was scammed out of 28 million rubles because she believed in the promise of "high returns from cryptocurrency investments."

The entire process lasted nearly a year. The scam was very old-fashioned— scammers approached her through messaging apps, fabricated an identity of living in an Arab country, and then started to make big promises: cryptocurrency investments, helping her relocate abroad. The victim was gradually persuaded to download various apps, and then kept transferring money endlessly.

Cases like this generally follow the same pattern. Scammers like to approach you on chat apps, boast about their identity and resources, then use high returns and overseas opportunities as hooks. Once you agree to participate, they start asking you to download various "investment platforms," each time claiming that just a little more investment will yield higher profits. The longer the cycle, the more control the scammers have over the pace.

So a reminder to everyone: any stranger who approaches you online, boasting about cryptocurrency or other high-return investments, is probably up to no good. Genuine investment institutions wouldn’t operate this way. Protecting your wallet’s bottom line is more important than anything else.

28 million rubles, wiped out in a year. This trick is truly clever. Strangers online initiating conversations and talking about investments—just block them, no doubt. By the way, why does this kind of thing keep happening every year?

28 million rubles gone, in a year. How much patience does that take? Didn't notice it for a year, truly is Strangers constantly bragging about overseas status, wake up everyone There's no such thing as a free lunch, really I'm already tired of this kind of trick, why do people still fall for it Protecting your wallet is really more important than anything else, I'm not joking Always saying that if you invest a little more, you'll make a profit, full of nonsense High returns on crypto investments? The next victim could be you

28 million rubles, gone in a year. This scam is really the worst. Strangers主动 add you saying they want to invest, and nine times out of ten they just want to scam the coins in your wallet. I've heard of this kind of thing too many times; it's hard to guard against. But on the other hand, greed really is the original sin. High returns? Ha, there's no such thing as a free lunch in the world, only free packages. It's outrageous, and we have to watch out ourselves—no one can be trusted.

Here are several comments that fit the "Hodl Veteran" persona: --- 28 million rubles, this guy really went all in and got completely wrecked. Back when I was all-in, I got trapped just like that. --- Talking to strangers about investments should always raise suspicion. This scam is older than my crypto trading years. --- A year? How many stories do you have to spin to fool people for that long? I admire this scammer's patience. --- This is classic pump-and-dump. Luckily, I only buy the dips now and don’t sell anymore. --- Every day someone adds me saying they’ll make guaranteed profits. I just block them now—learning to be smart. --- Let me tell you, everyone: high returns promised are just three words—Stay Away. --- Losing 28 million made me realize how bad it was compared to my early big losses. Feel sorry for this girl. --- Fellow bagholders, remember this template. On the internet, nine out of ten scams follow this pattern.

28 million rubles, gone in just a year. That's so tragic. Strangers online keep saying you can make money, but I just lol. There are too many suspicious signs. Be cautious when downloading such investment platforms. It's outrageous that after all this time, people still fall for these scams. By the way, can't we be more ruthless in cracking down on these scam gangs?

28 million rubles, a year's worth of chatting lessons, damn it, it's so expensive It's the same old story, strangers striking up conversations, fabricating identities, making big promises, and then endlessly asking for money. I'm tired of this routine High returns are always the scammers' favorite, if there were such good opportunities, it wouldn't be your turn or mine
