#美国消费者物价指数发布在即 $ETH $XRP $SOL How can Ethereum survive long-term? Recently, Vitalik Buterin provided an answer—he hopes to turn Ethereum into a true "hammer." Once forged, it can be used confidently for decades without constantly relying on developers to keep tinkering.
It sounds simple, but to achieve this goal, he listed seven hard nuts to crack.
First is security—quantum computing will eventually come knocking, so research into quantum resistance must start now. Don't wait until the real threat appears to panic. Next is scalability, which is always the top priority. Solutions like ZK-EVM and PeerDAS need to be further developed, aiming to increase network capacity while ensuring decentralization isn't compromised.
What about user experience? Currently, using Ethereum still has some barriers for ordinary people. The account model needs upgrading, and the Gas fee mechanism should be more reasonable, so it can truly attract the masses. Then there's the resilience of the ecosystem—block construction should be designed to withstand centralization pressures, preventing big players from calling all the shots.
The most interesting part is the financial infrastructure. Buterin believes there is a need to develop truly multi-asset-backed decentralized stablecoins, which can gradually reduce dependence on traditional finance, allowing the ecosystem to become truly independent.
His plan is to achieve at least one major improvement each year, so that Ethereum can become a system that requires no manual maintenance and can operate autonomously. This is not just about technological upgrades; the core is to establish a truly long-lasting decentralized ecosystem—a network that can really survive for decades.
