Recently discovered an interesting underlying public chain project—Dusk Network, worth discussing its approach to balancing privacy and compliance.

Many people have encountered this dilemma: wanting to use DeFi for financial management, but not wishing transaction records to be completely transparent; traditional privacy coins often seem risky. The emergence of Dusk Network perhaps offers an alternative solution.

Its core innovation lies in the concept of "compliant privacy." Simply put: your transfers, balances, and transaction amounts are encrypted through the Hedger module, and only you and authorized parties can see them. But this privacy is not absolute or unverifiable. On the contrary—when auditing or regulatory review is needed, within an authorized framework, these data can be securely verified. You can prove that your operations are compliant and legal while protecting everyday privacy. This "selective transparency" design is a way to find a certain balance between privacy and rules.

Data shows that Dusk's mainnet has been running for over a year, with more than 200 million DUSK tokens locked in staking, accounting for 36% of the total supply. This staking scale reflects the community’s confidence in the network’s security.

Another point worth noting is its "native issuance" design. Many real-world asset (RWA) applications on public chains, such as real estate and stocks, are often simply packaged and added to the chain later. But Dusk allows assets to be issued directly from the source in a compliant and private manner from the outset. This approach offers a somewhat different perspective in the RWA track.

Privacy + compliance sounds like a good approach, but can it really be implemented? The key still depends on how regulators accept it. Selective transparency sounds like a win-win, but in reality, could it leave both sides dissatisfied... 200 million tokens locked, this number looks quite healthy, at least it's not an empty shell. RWA is indeed a promising idea, issuing privately from the source is much more reliable than retrofitting later. But honestly, is this balance between compliance and privacy really stable? Will regulators truly approve? Staking rate at 36%, this community consensus seems okay, but I always feel there's something mysterious about the Hedger module... Could this selective transparency become a new target for regulators? No one has tried it yet.

I love this concept of selective transparency. Finally, someone has understood this issue.

Compliance and privacy sound good, but how many can truly survive? Seeing 200 million DUSK locked up, I can't help but wonder if these people are truly committed or just caught in a trap, haha. The RWA part is indeed interesting, but we have to wait for the ecosystem to get off the ground; right now, it's all just PPT.

The rhetoric of selective transparency sounds quite appealing, but when regulation comes knocking... can this privacy really be kept secure?

Compliance and privacy sound good, but how can we ensure that the authorized parties don't peek?

This selective transparency logic is somewhat interesting, but the key still depends on whether regulatory authorities will actually approve this plan.
