Recently, MSCI has shown some relaxation in its stance on the classification of digital asset treasury companies, which has sent several signals to the entire crypto market.

In the short term, this is a clear positive. Listed companies like MicroStrategy, which primarily hold Bitcoin as their main asset, have seen their stock prices supported as a result. After the announcement, their shares even surged over 6% in after-hours trading. This indicates that traditional capital markets are increasingly recognizing such companies, and the risk of passive fund sell-offs has been alleviated, making the demand for cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin in corporate asset allocation more stable.

However, in the medium term, uncertainties still remain. While MSCI has not completely excluded these companies, it has not fully opened the door either. It is likely that stricter inclusion criteria will be introduced in the future, such as evaluating the company's operational attributes and asset stability indicators. This means that the status of these DATCOs in the index will continue to be observed.

The deeper significance is that this reflects a shift in traditional financial institutions' attitude towards corporate holdings of crypto assets—becoming more cautious but also more tolerant. This will promote further industry discussions on how digital assets should be positioned within corporate treasuries and how to formulate relevant rules. Such developments are positive signals for the standardized growth of the market ecosystem.

Another message about this "loose attitude"... If I had heard about it earlier, I would have bought MSTR, oh my god.

MSCI's move this time is still the same old trick, first loosening the grip to make you happy, then setting thresholds again later.

MSCI's move is a test, to put it simply, it's still exploring the waters. The real positive news will come when the index truly opens its doors. As for now... don't celebrate too early.

MSCI has given in? Uh... well, it feels like that kind of move that gives some hope only to take it back later.
